Mobile NESTs
The mobile NEST use high quality road safety material and travel around the involved Member States, as well as the rest of EU, whenever possible. Different configurations of mobile NESTs are currently tested and evaluated. These are equipped with driving simulator, rollover car, belt sledge, collision weight and a van/trailer combination for transport. This material is too expensive for citizens or small NGOs to rent or buy. The mobile NEST answer real need of citizens and communities about road safety. The mobile nest equipment can be dedicated to the mobile nest or shared with the fixed nests, for groups of people that are difficult to move on a regular basis to the fixed NESTS, eg schools, elderly, company employees etc.
The training activities have general form for uniform groups of road uses, but should be also customised according to the special features of the groups involved. For example courses should differentiate regarding the location in rural or urban areas. Training material should also be customised according to the personalised needs of the road users. For example transport companies with a bad insurance record should address the weaknesses in the accident profile of the fleet in order to improve results dramatically. It is also very important to encourage active participation by the trainees in order to make training more interactive and effective.

Mobile NEST space
There are no special requirements for the space that the mobile nest will be installed. The main requirement is to be close to mains electricity plug for operating the equipment. Preferably the equipment should operate on a 220-240V voltage in order to be compatible with common mains plugs. Tents may be required for protecting the sensitive equipment and the participants from the elements. More specifically the driving simulator should be operated in the VAN if it is a single screen compact version. Otherwise a tent will be always required because the simulator will have to be protected from extreme sunlight that will reduce visibility of the screens and also from moisture and rain.
