Science Picnic of Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre
Motor Transport Institute participates each year in the Science Picnic of Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Centre, the Europe's largest science outdoor event, organized in May/June in Warsaw. The theme of the picnic is different each year (i.e. Huge Microcosm, Freedom, Energy). Picnic approaches community of scientists and the public, interested in exploring the mysteries of science in a friendly, understandable and attractive way. The aim of the Picnic is to disseminate the knowledge in different fields of science through presentations of interesting experiments. These experiments allow to get to know the science, they give inspiration and encourage the participants to individual science actions.
At the event there are usually approximately 200 institutions from Poland and abroad and it is possible to see more than 1000 exhibitions and experiments. During the picnic Motor Transport Institute presents the AVENUE Mobile NEST equipment of roll-over car simulator, belt sledge and alco-goggles, as well as the experiments on the visibility on roads and usage of the safety helmets for cyclists, snowboarders, skiers, skaters and motorcyclists, and organizes small events for children regarding road safety.
