NESTs
The NESTs have implemented best practices applied worldwide and also developed innovative approaches towards Road Safety. Experiential learning is being practiced using simulators and advanced learning equipment. Coaching courses involve active trainee participation and personalized educational material for different societal, professional and age groups. I this way NESTs have increased the impact and effectiveness of Road Safety trainings giving road safety a cultural and social identity.
Furthermore NEST structures and actions are being continuously and systematically evaluated and there is significant effort has been put towards their standardisation. This will help to spread the practice in many European countries by showcasing the huge potential that these referral centers have.
The development, implementation and establishment of NESTs and the comparison against existing applications, is showing already the strengths and weaknesses of traditional and existing practices and also the innovative approaches towards Road Safety.
