Project “Hermes”: Education for young traffic offenders
Since last December R.S.I, in cooperation with the Supreme Court and the Probation Office Court of Athens, is implementing a new training program for young people (adolescents), who have violated traffic regulations.
Under this program young offenders are sent from the Court of Athens to attend educative seminars in R.S.I. Through this action Court of Athens shows complete trust and satisfaction in actions and projects designed from R.S.I under AVENUE program.
This project under the name “Hermes” aims to educate young people and prevent further development of dangerous behaviour as far as it concerns road safety issues of young drivers and powered two-wheeler riders. The age of the target group is very important since the maturity process is not yet completed for these young people, who are in a period of their lives where they can be educated on Road safety, providing training and guidance. The age group for which this program was created is crucial, and the evaluation of the process shows that it can have a real impact and dramatically improve the behavior of teenagers. The trainers in the program are certified partners who are experts in the field of Automobile, Motorcycle, Transportation and Psychology. In addition, victims of Road Traffic Accidents and Road Traffic Officers are involved.
